On the site of a 1920s aluminium factory in the Conwy Valley, a new generation of thrill-seekers is climbing, crawling and leaping. Adventure Parc Snowdonia at Dolgarrog has reopened under new ownership with a line-up of indoor and outdoor activities.

The site has had several lives. It started out in the 1920s as the Dolgarrog Aluminium factory. In 2015 it became Surf Snowdonia, a groundbreaking leisure venue whose record-breaking artificial waves hosted international competitions, before it closed in 2023. In 2024 Interesting Hotels Group took over Adventure Parc and the nearby Ixora Hotel and Spa, and in 2025 Adventure Parc reopened its doors.

The activities are built for all ages and abilities. Indoor caving takes visitors through a 110-metre artificial cave system, and Adventure Climb is an indoor climbing wall with ten routes. The Ninja Assault course is an indoor obstacle course ending in a freefall, and Altitude Adventure combines a high ropes course with a leap of faith from nine or 12-metre platforms.

There is also an all-weather pump track and skate bowl, pickleball courts that can be booked with friends, and adventure soft play for younger children. Beyond the site, the team runs gorge walking and points visitors to biking and hiking trails on the edge of the national park.

The park describes itself as being in the Conwy Valley on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, surrounded by scenery and trails, with activities for different ages, abilities and energy levels. The new owners say they want to offer no frills, no screens, just simple fun and great experiences that bring people together, with an emphasis on inclusion and accessibility and on respecting and protecting the landscape they call home.

Groups are a big part of the offer, from schools and clubs to corporate team building and kids' parties, and adventure camping pods provide a base for longer stays.

With so much of it indoors, Adventure Parc is designed for adrenaline whatever the weather, which in the Conwy Valley is a useful promise.

Adventure Parc is at Dolgarrog, LL32 8QE. Book activities at adventureparc.co.uk or call 01492 709929.
