Cameo Brides in Llandudno celebrates three decades of finding the dress

For more than 30 years, brides have been finding their dresses on Vaughan Street in Llandudno. Cameo Brides is a family-run bridal boutique owned by two sisters, Rosie and Ann, who have become a fixture of the local wedding industry.

The boutique has been named Best Bridal Boutique of the North at the regional Welsh Wedding Awards. The sisters say they have worked hard to make sure their shop is welcoming and that dress shopping is an exciting and memorable experience, with every bride receiving personal attention.

"Selecting a wedding dress is more than just a fitting, it's a memory in the making," the boutique says.

As well as wedding dresses, Cameo Brides stocks bridal accessories, bridesmaid dresses and occasion wear for mothers of the bride and groom. Its in-house team of expert seamstresses handles alterations, from simple adjustments to more intricate changes, so brides do not have to find a separate dressmaker.

For a special occasion, the boutique offers a VIP bridal experience, the Very Important Bride appointment. The bride and her party have exclusive use of the shop, with as many guests as she likes, nibbles and a bottle of non-alcoholic fizz. Booking is essential and there is a £20 charge for the service. VIB brides can also book a pop-up bar company for their appointment, from £15 per person including two drinks, and anyone who prefers can bring their own alcohol.

Reviews on the boutique's website tell the story. One bride wrote of the fantastic support from Rosie and Ann, saying she felt relaxed and happy with every decision and left with her dream dress. Another customer, a mother of the bride, said she could not fault the service and helpfulness. "Thank you for being so patient with me whilst I was very indecisive and unsure what I actually wanted," wrote Amanda Hirst. "I found the perfect dress with your help."

The boutique keeps its followers up to date with new arrivals, sale news and the wedding fayres where it can be found, and its newsletter promises to share new designs and accessories first. Its motto sums up the approach: "It's not just a dress, it's a dress you'll remember forever."

The shop is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Tuesday from 9am, closed on Thursdays, with Sunday appointments by arrangement.
