Court De Padel opens its first Welsh club at Prestatyn Business Park

Padel has arrived in Prestatyn in a big way. Court De Padel officially opened its new indoor club at Prestatyn Business Park on Saturday 22 August, the national padel company's third UK club and its first in Wales.

The company has taken five units on the business park to create the venue, which has four indoor panoramic doubles courts and two singles courts, along with a bar and changing facilities. It is designed as a year-round destination for players across North Wales.

"We are absolutely delighted and could not be more pleased to have secured such a modern building at Prestatyn Business Park, which we believe is ideal for padel," said Alan Forsyth, managing director of Court De Padel Prestatyn.

The club caters for players of all ages and abilities. Two full-time coaches provide lessons, and regular social sessions give newcomers and experienced players the chance to get involved and meet other players.

Padel combines elements of tennis and squash and has surged in popularity across the UK over the past three years. It is fast-paced and sociable, and its accessibility to a wide range of ages and abilities is a big part of the appeal. Court De Padel's other clubs are in Norwich and Hull, and the company also runs leagues and corporate events.

Dominic James, director of James Industrial, which developed the business park, said the letting was a significant milestone. Court De Padel joins a growing community of occupiers that spans manufacturing, trade, fitness, food and drink and the creative industries, including Horton's Artisan, Pixel Fine Art, The Studio Arts Collective, Apricity Coffee and NXT LVL Fitness, close to Prestatyn town centre, the golf club and the seafront.

For anyone who has watched the padel boom from a distance, the new club means there is no longer any need to travel to the North West of England to give it a try, and indoor courts mean the weather will not stop play.

Courts can be booked through the Playtomic app. Follow @courtdepadelprestatyn on Instagram or visit courtdepadel.com for more information.
