Pontcysyllte Chapel Tearoom near Llangollen named a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice winner
A tearoom in a former chapel near one of Wales' most famous landmarks has been placed among the best in the world. Pontcysyllte Chapel Tearoom has been named a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice winner for 2026, putting it in the top 10 per cent worldwide.
The tearoom is in a converted former Methodist chapel near the famous World Heritage Site, and it is a popular choice for locals and visitors alike. It is also known for regular charity quiz nights that have raised thousands of pounds for local causes, including Hope House.
Travellers' Choice honours destinations, hotels, restaurants and attractions around the world. The awards are based on reviews and ratings left on Tripadvisor over the previous 12 months, and recognise businesses that consistently show a commitment to hospitality.

The tearoom on Station Road has had some famous visitors too. In September it welcomed Celebrity Traitors pair Joe Marler and Joe Wilkinson, who were filming their new BBC series The Friend Ship in the area. Former rugby star Joe Marler posed for pictures, spoke a little Welsh and even sang the opening lines of the hymn Calon Lân. "Top bloke, friendly, down-to-earth and fun," the team said, adding that the pair are welcome back any time.
