Ty Gwyn Holiday Park in Abergele wins Wales in Bloom Gold for the second year

Ty Gwyn Holiday Park in Abergele has been awarded Gold at the Wales in Bloom Awards, at a ceremony in Talgarth, Powys. It is the second year in a row the park has won Gold.
The judges were impressed by its wildflower areas, butterfly and bird houses and creative flower displays, including a pyramid bed and sunflowers grown by caravan owners as part of a sunflower competition. The entry also highlighted new tree planting and a herb patch for customers of the on-site restaurant, The Peacock Lounge.
Behind the blooms is a wider commitment to sustainability. The park has a 35kW solar array, LED lighting and two electric vehicle charging points, each able to charge two cars at up to 22kW.
"We are thrilled to have won the Gold Award," said director Angharad Owen. "It is a tribute to the hard work, skill and enthusiasm of our dedicated team at Ty Gwyn and the support of our caravan owners. Our goal is to create beautiful surroundings for the Ty Gwyn community to enjoy and to continue implementing a range of sustainability initiatives across the site."
Ty Gwyn is a third-generation family business and one of the oldest holiday parks in the UK. On Towyn Road, it describes itself as a quiet, family-run and friendly park on the North Wales coast, with large grassy areas, access to the seafront, and step-free, flat ground that makes the restaurant and seafront wheelchair-friendly.
The park is dog-friendly, has caravans for sale including new models, and offers two two-bedroom caravans to rent through Hoseasons. It also carries Hedge Habitat and Honey Bee Friendly badges and a Green Growth award. Its other accolades have included Silver Gilt at Wales in Bloom in 2024, a David Bellamy award and a four-star rating, and caravan owners have raised £4,000 at a charity fun day.
Gold two years running is a fine reward for the gardeners, staff and owners who keep the park in bloom.
